David Beckham moved to Beverly Hills in 2007 with his wife Victoria and their three sons, and the soccer star has no plans to move back to the UK.

Instead, he hopes to remain in America for as long as his family are happy living there — but insists he will never forget his English roots.

Asked by the Los Angeles Times newspaper if he would like to get US citizenship, David — who was born and raised in London — said: “I hope so, one day. It would be nice. I’m English born and bred and that’s the way I’ll always be. I’m an Englishman, you know.

“Our boys go to school here. As long as they continue to be happy here and my wife’s happy here, then we plan on staying.”

Despite his love for America, the heartthrob sportsman wants to bring a little bit of England over to Los Angeles by opening a pub called The Queen Vic.

David and his close friend, TV chef Gordon Ramsay, are planning to open a traditional English drinking establishment for the city’s expats.

A source previously said: “David wants pie and mash, fish and chips and even chicken in a basket on the menu, just like the meals he eats when he’s in the UK.”

Nick Lachey is giving the whole marriage thing another go around! Us magazine reports Jessica Simpson’s ex popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. Congrats!

They’ve been dating since 2006, though they had a brief split last summer before getting back together again. They got together the first time soon after he and Jessica divorced.

After LeAnn Rimes posted a picture to Twitter showing Eddie Cibrian down on one knee, many wondered if the pop star was trying to tell the world that she and Cibiran were getting ready to tie the knot.

Now, E! Online is reporting that the two are indeed engaged. “The recently divorced actor indeed popped the question recently and the duo are engaged,” writes E!, citing a source close to the couple.

It it’s true, it would be the latest development in the couple’s whirlwind relationship. They met on the set of Hallmark movie Northern Lights while both were married, and eventually left their respective spouses to be with each other.

Rimes, talking to ABC’s Robin Roberts, said that it was out of character for her. “That’s just not me. What happened is not who I am, period. I do know how much I love him. So, I’ve always said I don’t live my life with regret. I can’t.”

So far, no word from either Rimes or Cibrian on whether they have decided to take the next step. We’ll wait and see what the reps for Rimes and Cibrian have to say.

Brad Pitt’s kids are really big fans of Spider-Man, and they don’t sound too impressed with the fact that their movie star dad voiced the character of superhero Metro Man in the new animated flick Megamind. They’d be much more impressed if he landed the role of Peter Parker.

Speaking at the New York premiere of his new animated movie Megamind on Wednesday, Brad said: “Spider-Man is big in our family. The kids think he’s the coolest. If there was one superhero they would want me to play, that would be the one. I’d score big with them.”

Andrew Garfield was recently cast as the Marvel character in the new Spider-Man movie, taking over the role of Peter Parker and his super-powered alter-ego from Tobey Maguire.

The 47-year-old star, who voices the superhero character Metro Man in Megamind, admits he always considers his children when accepting new roles. He added: “Every role we (me and Angelina) choose now, we choose it for the kids. Will the kids like it? Will they like it when they are young adults? Or is this a good location for the family? That’s it. With Megamind hopefully they will think dad’s really cool and better than Spider-Man.”

Brad took sons Maddox, nine, and Pax, six, to the premiere. His other children, Zahara, five, Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, are currently in Budapest, Hungary, with their mother Angelina who is shooting her directorial debut in the city.

New couple alert! Taylor Lautner is said to have been romancing 21-year-old actress Lily Collins for “almost four months” after meeting on the set of their forthcoming movie Abduction.

Since finishing the movie, Taylor is now working in Louisiana on Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and according to Us Weekly magazine, Lily “plans on hanging out there a lot.”

The pair were first romantically linked in July, when it was reported the 18-year-old actor had seduced his co-star on the set of the film by “constantly flashing his shirtless six pack,” despite her having a boyfriend.

A source said at the time: “Lily told pals that she wasn’t looking to fall in love, but soon realized she had strong romantic feelings.

It’s a happy day for Weezy fans as the New York Times has confirmed that Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island Jail Thursday morning.

The rapper served eight months of a one-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to attempted possession of a weapon after a gun was found in his tour bus in 2007. MTV earlier reported that Lil Wayne (legal name Dwayne Carter, Jr.) would serve one more day due to a clerical mix-up.

At about 6 AM East Coast time, a very brief message was posted on Lil Wayne’s Twitter account: “#WelcomeHomeWeezy.”

Wayne stayed active creatively while in jail. He wrote sports columns for Sports Illustrated, and replied to some of his many fan letters. His music videos continued to be released after he rushed to shoot seven of them all together as his incarceration approached.

In a letter posted to weezythanxyou.com on Tuesday, Wayne thanked his fans for sending him mail and for keeping him in their prayers. “I simple LOVE you all,” he wrote.

Actor Justin Long was injured in a minor car accident today, forcing him to cancel an appearance at the Savannah film festival.

Long was due to promote her new film The Conspirator, co-starring Evan Rachel Wood and James McAvoy in Georgia, but called the trip off after getting into a fender bender in Los Angeles.

Michael Douglas recently completed a gruelling course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy on a tumor in his throat, and he’s seriously looking forward to being able to enjoy a glass of wine again once his treatment is complete.

He said: “I’ve always been a positive person, and I will kick this thing. But on the other hand the processes that they are using to eliminate it will take their toll.

“A lot of my  energy has gone and I have increased soreness in my mouth. But overall I feel good. And I’m looking forward to enjoying a good glass of wine when I get my tasted buds back again.”

As well as battling cancer, the 66-year-old star has also seen his son Cameron jailed this year for drugs offenses.

However, he insists he still feels his life has been lucky because he has never suffered much hardship until this year.

He told Britain’s Hello! magazine: “I’ve had a pretty stressful year this year, on some fronts that were public and some other fronts that weren’t. And let’s face it, things had been going pretty good with me for a long time before this and once in a while, life has to throw you a curve ball just to test you.”

Jay-Z thinks he could do a great job as the leader of America with the help of future First Lady Beyonce Knowles, but he won’t put himself forward for another few years.

He said: “Give me a chance. Maybe in eight years, I’ll be the president.”

Although he wants to enter politics, Jay-Z insists he isn’t disappointed with current President Barack Obama, whose Democratic Party has suffered heavy losses in the US midterm elections.

He explained to BBC Newsbeat: “In order to judge someone, you have to judge what they inherit. He inherited the worst economy, war, just a horrible time in American history. So if we think he can solve that, I mean, we don’t think he’s God, do we?

“He’s a human being. He’s going to need time to figure that out.

“In order to get to that sort of success and that dream, you have to go through some peaks and valleys. It’s been two years.”

Jay-Z has met President Obama since he came to office and has dined with former leader Bill Clinton.

The hip-hop mogul (real name Shawn Carter) has previously admitted he finds it “mind-blowing” that American leaders even know who he is.

Jay-Z, who grew up in a tough area of New York, said: “It’s unbelievable because it’s so far away from where I come from. We were the kids who were ignored by every politician. We didn’t have the numbers, the vote, to put anybody in office, because no matter who was in the office, we didn’t think that it would affect change where we lived. So nobody went out and voted.

“For me, being with Obama or having dinner with Bill Clinton is crazy. It’s mind-blowing, because where I come from is just another world. We were just ignored by politicians — by America in general.”
